Salem Renaissance is the online newsletter of Salem Lutheran Church, Gretna, Louisiana.
Renaissance is French for "rebirth," literally to be born again. Jesus teaches us that we Christians are sinners who have been born a second time, given a new birth by water and the Spirit.
The fleur-de-lis is a local expression of the universal faith, being a stylized lily (associated with Easter and the Resurrection) as well as confessing the Holy Trinity with its trefoil design.
